Family-Run Council ("Family Council") Resources

Please contact MANHR if you would like assistance with forming a new Family Council or for supporting an existing Council. We provide mentor and speaker services, and can provide you with a Family Council Handbook and other materials. One of MANHR’s primary initiatives is networking Family-Run Councils across Massachusetts through membership meetings and email notices on various long-term care issues.

Join MANHR to strengthen your Family Council!

In January, 2008, NCCNHR, the National Consumer Voice for Quality Long-Term Care, initiated the Family Councils for Quality Long-Term Care: Support, Strengthen and Empower project which is supported by a grant from the Frances Lane Memorial Family Council Fund, of the Edward H. Lane Foundation.  This project enables NCCNHR to support and network independent family councils across the country.  Family councils nationwide are invited to participate in educational conference calls and have access to a webpage and mailings with information and resources related to family council advocacy.
